The Saga of End Of The Year Pends

This information was copied directly from Nature’s Sunshine’s informational site on pending:

 “A Manager can drop below 1,000 Group QV points two out of every 12 months (within the calendar year) without losing Manager status, but the Manager will be paid commissions only as a Member in those months, based on the normal rebates/commissions schedule. Such months are called “pending” months. On the third month in which the Manager fails to reach 1,000 Group QV points, he/ she will lose Manager status until he/she re-qualifies as a Manager.” 

“If these two months are consecutive at the end/beginning of the calendar year (i.e., November and December or December and January), then if the minimum Group QV requirement is not met, the Manager will lose status in the month that immediately follows those two pending months. Managers who have “pending months” in December and January and do not meet their required volumes for February will have used their two pending months for the new calendar year.” 

Dick & Joy suggests that you consider this if you are contemplating a end of the year pend:

The “magic number” here is DECEMBER …If you feel you must pend towards the end of the year, make sure you do not pend in December so you will break the cycle of “two consecutive pending months” (November & December or December & January). We are not suggesting that you electively pend on any of these months, but if you cannot avoid a pend during this end of the year transition, place your efforts towards making certain that you qualify and not pend in December.

  

Farewell to a Friend

It is with deep sadness that we announce the recent passing of our beloved friend and Senior National Manager Dave Burke. Always the gentleman, Dave was constantly by his wife Susie’s side as they immersed themselves in their Texas-based Nature’s Sunshine business for decades.

Sponsoring into Nature’s Sunshine in1977, Dave and Susie built a prolific natural health business, teaching people about herbs and recruiting new people with a friendly Texas smile everywhere they went. Together they built a lasting legacy of the Nature’s Sunshine spirit of “Caring and Sharing.” Miss you Dave.

Nature’s Sunshine is Back

What a month October was. In spite of the horrific weather problems that plagued so much of our country, Nature’s Sunshine brought a beautiful ray of sunshine to all of us during the week of October 16-20. We hope all of you took advantage of the product discounts and shipping special promotions. Never before have we had both of these promotions occur at the same time. What a great surprise and treat and awesome way to let people know that, in spite of the Oracle problems, NSP has our back! Thank you Nature’s Sunshine!

Nature’s Sunshine takes action for members in non-compliance with NSP policies

As we have been told by Lynn Ohman, Director of Distributor Education and Compliance, NSP has developed a tracking system where they can determine members who are purchasing and selling products over internet sites like Amazon and EBay. It has happened, and NSP showed no favoritism to rank. In September, a Divisional Manager was terminated by NSP for failing to follow policy on selling products over the internet.

Promotional Changes May Become a Necessity

NSP is considering changes in its popular promotions of “Buy 4 get 1 free”, “Buy 9 get 3 free”, etc.
It may become necessary to cap the quantities of these promotions each account can purchase. NSP has increased sales audits by randomly looking at managers accounts. Red flags go up when they see a manager who purchases huge quantities of these promo specials, and they then appear on Amazon/EBay, and not necessarily under their account. It’s sad that honest members and managers may need to be constrained in quantity purchases of these promo items, but an honest manager would not be purchasing 300-400 special promo products at one time. We will keep you informed on any updates or changes related to this issue.

Computer System Status = Much Improved and Improving

Hold times for Customer Service and Leadership Support are almost back to the pre-live Oracle status, with exceptions during peak end of month calls. Promo’s still cause some slowness. The website speed is showing steady improvements but there is still work to do to bring it up to peak performance. Michel Banon, CIO (Chief Information Officer) has improved resolutions process dramatically.
